Quick-Cooking Wild Rice

Adds convenience and versatility to preparing wild rice in your kitchen. Using our patented process, we take Minnesota cultivated wild rice, pre-cook and dehydrate the wild rice so it can be prepared in just five minutes, by only adding water. Now you can have wild rice any time, without having to wait. By adding this 'Caviar of Grains' to soups, salads, baked goods and even hamburger patties you can quickly and easily turn them all into gourmet treats.

Cooking Directions - On the Stove

For 1 Serving -- In a medium saucepan, bring 2/3 cup water to boil. If desired, add margarine and salt. Stir in 1/2 cup wild rice, reduce heat and cover, simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Drain excess liquid. Fluff with fork and serve.

For 3 Servings -- In a medium saucepan, bring 1-1/3 cups water to boil. If desired, add margarine and salt. Stir in 1-1/2 cups wild rice, reduce heat and cover, simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Drain excess liquid. Fluff with fork and serve.

* For firmer, nutty texture, decrease cooking time.  For softer, more tender rice, increase cooking time.

Cooking Directions - In the Microwave

For best quality and texture, we do not recommend preparing Gourmet House® Quick Cooking Wild Rice in the microwave.
