All Natural Brown and Wild Rice

Brown and Wild Rice Blend ... a healthy blend of brown rice and cultivated wild rice.

Prepare any of this blend with chicken or beef broth instead of water for a delicious treat. Or, add your own seasonings for a traditional stuffing.

Cooking Directions - On the Stove

For 4 Servings -- In a medium saucepan, bring 2-1/4 cups of water or broth to a boil. If desired, add margarine and salt. Stir in 1 cup of rice blend, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 40 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes and serve.

For 8 Servings -- In a medium saucepan, bring 4-1/2 cups of water or broth to a boil. If desired, add margarine and salt. Stir in 2 cups of rice blend, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 40 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes and serve.

For 10 Servings -- In a medium saucepan, bring 5-1/3 cups of water or broth to a boil. If desired, add margarine and salt. Stir in the entire rice blend package, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 40 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes and serve.

Cooking Directions - In the Microwave

In a 2-quart microwave-safe dish, combine 1 cup rice blend and 2-1/4 cups water or broth. If desired, add margarine and salt. Cover and microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes. Reduce setting to 50% power, microwave for 35 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes and serve. **It is recommended that only 1 cup of rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate.
