Maple Cake

Ingredients:

buttermilk |

maple flavoring |
Directions:
Prepare wild rice according to package directions. Makes about 2 cups. Well drain cooked rice and set aside.
Cream butter, sugar; add eggs and beat until smooth, light and fluffy. Mix the flour, soda, walnuts and salt together and add this alternately with the buttermilk to the creamed mixture. Blend in the flavoring and cooked wild rice. Pour into a 9 x 13" well-greased and lightly floured cake pan. Bake at 350F for about 25 minutes, or until cake tests done.
While still warm, cut into squares and serve with your favorite caramel sauce or with whipped cream.
