Cooking Directions - On the Stove

For 2 Servings -- In a medium saucepan, bring 1-1/2 cups water to boil. If desired, add margarine and salt. Stir in 1/2 cup wild rice, reduce heat and cover, simmer for 20-25 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes and serve.

For 4 Servings -- In a medium saucepan, bring 3 cups water to boil. If desired, add margarine and salt. Stir in 1 cup wild rice, reduce heat and cover, simmer for 20-25 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes and serve.

For 8 Servings -- In a medium saucepan, bring 6 cups water to boil. If desired, add margarine and salt. Stir in 2 cups wild rice, reduce heat and cover, simmer for 20-25 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes and serve.

Cooking Directions - In the Microwave

In a 2-quart microwave-safe dish, combine 1 cup wild rice and 2-1/2 cups hot water. If desired, add margarine and salt. Cover and microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes. Reduce setting to 50% power, microwave for 30-35 minutes. Let stand for 10-15 minutes and serve. **It is recommended that only 1 cup of rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate.
